[about]
A New Year’s Eve spectacle for Phish at Madison Square Garden, built around the return of the band’s iconic clones gag. While Phish performed suspended high above the stage, cloned versions of each band member appeared below—playing continuously in a relentless stream of parallel activity.
The show unfolded as a piece of live theatre as much as a concert, with moving scenic elements constantly reconfiguring the stage to create shifting performance spaces. The interplay between the real band, their clones, and the evolving architecture blurred perception and scale, turning the arena into a kinetic, playful, and surreal environment—perfectly timed to usher in the New Year.
